Biking Hiking Shuttles is a family owned Company set up and run by Sue and Pete.
We created Biking Hiking Shuttles so we could be involved with something we both love doing and would enable us to meet and support others who enjoy the outdoors.
Whilst we have travelled extensively throughout Europe and elsewhere in the world we have fallen in love with the Kaimai’s and surrounding area – it is, in our opinion, one of New Zealand’s lesser-known gems.
Our local town, Te Aroha, has so much to offer – a historic Spa town with thermal baths, a unique natural hot water soda geyser, a beautiful domain, a wide range of hiking trails – to the top of the iconic Mount Te Aroha (953m), the highest peak in the Kaimai’s, to waterfall walks, historic gold mining areas and gentle walks around the domain. The Kaimai’s also offer numerous multi day hikes with DOC huts and small campsites available for overnight stays.
Te Aroha is at the heart of the very popular Hauraki rail trail with over 170kms of fun riding for all the family through stunning scenery, over bridges, through tunnels with even the opportunity to take a train ride. If you require something slightly more challenging there are numerous mountain bike trails on Mount Te Aroha which take you past waterfalls, over streams with some fun downhills.
Sue and Pete provide a personal, bespoke, shuttle service to help you plan and enjoy a hike or bike ride to match your abilities and interests, whilst not having to worry about how to get to your start or end point. We can arrange drop offs and pick-ups throughout the Kaimai range and along the Hauraki rail trail. We can also offer somewhere secure for you to leave your vehicle should you wish to be away on your adventure for several days.
Our Mission
